Christmas Stampin' All Year Long - Challenge 28

I love this weeks challenge at Christmas Stampin' All Year Long. I did this once at one of my SU stamp camps you should try it. This week we will be in the spotlight for your creativity says Maria! By highlighting a part of our image by stamping it twice and layering it and just coloring the layering portion! I really like this effect. Dramatic! Here's a great Tutorial from Split Coast Stampers to show you how!

Here is my entry:

I used the Cuttlebug Herringbone embossing folder to add detail to the base card

Flower Pot pocket card

I always wanted to make one and tonight I did, you can find a version of the directions on Split Coast Stampers web site under: Flower Pot Pocket Card tutorial

Step 1 - base card is 9" x 3 1/2"

Step 2 - scored at 3 1/2" at one end, turn around and score the other end at 2"

Step 3 - Take a paper trimmer to the 2" end to create a scallop edge. (I used my EK Success border punch)

Step 4 - fold like an according and ink as you like

Step 5 - cut the pull up card piece at 4 1/4" x 2 1/4"

Step 6 - while the piece is inserted - create your blooms as you like and adhere to the top of the card piece that pokes out of the pot - do not glue your blooms to the pot.

Happy Father's Day - Tri-Shutter Card

This card is for my dad whom I love dearly.

I was poking around the tutorials on Splitcoaststampers web site and came across this rather intriguing card. The main cuts and scores are so easy! What takes a bit of time is the inner paper piecing rectangles... and choosing your coordinating card stock. Fortunately I used a Scrap Pack from Colorbok so they all matched. The phrases and hearts were cut using the Cricut Wild Card cart. Ribbon is from Wal-Mart. Also entered this card in the Cuttlebug Spot Challenge# 35: FathersDay/Masculine projects
