Quick Jean repurpose into bag

I have not made one of these in a long time. I spent some time this weekend (30 minutes) to create this bag.
My friend gave me a pair of her jeans and I repurposed it into a bag to take to my crochet group on Wednesdays.

I cut off the legs

Turned inside out and sewed 1/4" across the bottom

Boxed the corners at 2"

cut strips of jeans (2") (2 pieces) out of one of the legs and sewed the strips to the top of the waistband.

Added a 2" corresponding fabric for a fashionable belt/bag scarf.

I still have plenty left over to make smaller bags; here is one, I just need to put a snap on it.

Booty Bag

I always wanted to try and make a booty bag.
So last weekend I asked my niece for a pair of jeans and a T Shirt she no longer needed and said I was going to make her a cute bag.
After a couple hours with the sewing machine and hand stitching the liner to the inside of the bag as well as an old belt she had - this is the results!

I cut the jeans down to above the crotch area. Sewed across the bottom and did the corner stitching inside to square off the bottom.
Then I cut the bottom of the knit shirt she gave me and did the same thing sewed the bottom and then squared off the corners

I cut the belt into three pieces - so I could preserve the belting mechanism so she could close the purse. I hand stitched that to the sides of the purse. Took the longer portion left over piece and hand stitched that to the seams for a handle/shoulder strap.

Lastly to hide all the hand stitching I hand stitched the shirt lining in.

This is a quick pic as i couldn't wait to give it to her yesterday. Oh I forgot - I also made two pockets inside as we all know us girls love pockets!
