Repurpose Powerade bottle into little container

My son drinks these for his lunch at work and brings them home to recycle.
So I cut the top off and with two caps I complete a little container for your purse.

I gave these out and the women loved them. I keep Ibuprofen in mine but you could store a necklace or two, rings, hand cream etc.

Happy New Year

I call this card, a little of this and a little of that. I used a sheet of pattern paper from an old Christmas stack from Hot Off The Press, doilies I just bought in the Christmas clearance at Michael's, some metallic silver 6 strand thread (more like floss), and for the butterflies a paint chip from Lowes.

Sentiment from SU Teeny Tiny Wishes and butterfly punch from SU as well.

Rockin birthday card

I spent quite a bit of thought and time on this card for my friend Gary. He's a huge musician and guitarist so when I saw the Sizzix Electric Guitar die I had to buy it to make his card this year.
I used the music Cuttlebug folder for the background and Stampin stamp for the sentiment and the images inside.
I handcut the guitar pick, stamped rock on it and it's raised on foam square and inked as well.

Blinged out candle

I bought some small candles and used them for place settings gifts at my Christmas Dinner.

However this one I created especially for my friend whom I stopped by last night.
I wanted to jazz it up so I took this fabulous silver sparkle ribbon and glued it around and made a bow as well.
Then I took a strip of bling (I just bought this at Michael's) and added it above the silver glitter ribbon.
To finish it off, glued on a red jewel.

Star Wars

I was fortunate to take a break last week from studying and saw Star Wars new movie in 3D and one night before it truly opened!
I was going through my craft folder and came across a template I had to make this snowflake. What perfect timing as I probably had the various templates for years. It was a quick one and needs better refinement but it will do.

Masculine birthday card

I mailed this last month to a friend's youngest brother's birthday that was on November 30th.

All Stampin Up products, loved the brown sponging and the blue.
Ink used was suede so not the traditional black for me.  The ribbon was easy to work with as it was very lightweight.

Noel

Here's another simple card, I cut out a rectangle from cardstock and used it as a template to sponge blue ink for the background and then stamped the sentiment in black Stazon ink. Added a rhinestone to the swirl too!
Took craft card stock die cut the tree and inked the edges with brown ink and raised it on foam squares.
Inside I used a fancy corner punch to jazz up the inside.

Christmas cards kit and mailed

I created this batch during the summer and made my mailing out a lot quicker, however I always struggle over which card to send to each recipient.
I've pulled out a couple of my favorites as I used various embossing folders to add to the cards.

Reindeer ornament from cork

Is this not the cutest reindeer all decked out for Christmas! ?!!!
My daughter made this for me and I love it.

She bought the beads and wire from Michael's and I had the bag of 100 corks  from a previous purchase.

It took quite awhile to make so I feel honored to have one!

Chapstick Holders

You may have seen my older post with the black polka dot chap stick holders, recently I made two more versions.
I've already sold 15 of them and my craft fair is tomorrow! So there may only be a small sample tomorrow to sell.

Either way I loved making these and they were fun to pick out the ribbon.

The latest one I did was a Periwinkle color and added rhinestone strip to the top.
Here is the set, I am giving my customer's the option of buying the holder with or without the Chap Stick.

Wish upon a starfish

I created these tonight for my upcoming craft fair.
Printed the saying on cardstock from MS Word. Using a thin die I cut out the shape around it. Using my 1/8" hole punched, I punched three holes to tie the twine and a dangle pearl.

I made 6 and of course keeping one for myself.

Cork birdhouse ornament

I made a few of these for an upcoming craft fair.

Took corks that I bought and screwed in the eye screw at the bottom.
Took recycled corrugated cardboard and cut pieces and hot glued as the roof.
Before I hot glued, I took my Crop-a-Dile and punched a center hole for a loop of twine.
Added fake snow to roof and also hot glued a button.
Now for the dangle off the eye screw, I knew I wanted to put something but this took longer than making the unit! !
I repurposed an old necklace that I bought years ago from a flea market with the intent of using it for crafts.
Final added was the toothpick bird perch.

Chapstick key chain

Saw this on Pinterest and couldn't wait to try it.
Here's my version:
I bought the ribbon at Wal-Mart yesterday and cut the roll up into 8" lengths.
I hemmed the bottom and had a huge bag of D rings so I sewed one to the top.
Then folded up the bottom and side stitched it up.
This is how the back looks.
Can't wait to attach it to my purse. I made more to sell at a craft fair next month.

Tassel bead necklaces

I bought these crackle beads in Key West last week and wasn't sure what I was going to make with them.

I decided to make Christmas presents in the form of tassel necklaces.
I bought the completed 18" necklaces from Michael's craft store today, made the jump ring and formed the bead chain and firsr attached the bead to the necklace chain.
I then cut chain in 5 pieces: 9 links, 11 links, 13 links, 11 links and lastly one more at 9 links then added them to another jump ring attached to the end of the bead chain.
I'm so into tassles since I learned how to at a class. (I'll post that in a post later on in the week.)

Happy Birthday classy card

I wanted to make my daughter a super grown up card. I can't believe she'll be 25 next week.

I started with a solid black base card. Using my circle cutter, I cut three staggered circles. I used textured DCWV Old World Cardstock.
I added a border and punched butterflies with pearls.
I even fancied up the inside with the same border punch.

Wire wrapped Love bracelet

I recently took a word wrap class at Michael's craft store where I learned to word wrap with wire.
Important notes:  draw out your word
Use proper thickness of wire for your intended purpose
Have the proper tools
Work with the wire on the spool (this was hard for me as it got in my way)

First we did the word Mom...the m were tricky and the perfectionist in me got a little frustrated.... Marianne, the instructor ask my daughter and I what other word we would like to wrap so we tried "Love".

I was pleased at the outcome and made it into a bracelet.

Taking 18 gauge wire we started with a loop, using round nose pliers and partway down the tip.
The "L" was easy bringing the wire up and guiding it down and around.
Again drawing it helps...as for the "o", I kept wanting to go in the opposite direction
Continued with the "v", you have to use a minimal amount of wire for the top or start of the "v" and almost picture it in your head
The "e" was easy as well as the last loop.

Since I brought my bag of jewelry making necessities, I cut off a bit of chain, added a lobster claw to make a bracelet.

Also love dangles so added a premade charm.

Farewell banner

With some old 8 1/2 x 11 pattern paper, twine and computer font I was able to quickly make this banner.
Cut the stack of paper with my old guillotine type cutter into 4 x 8 pieces to make each flag. Took the cut stack and placed them in the guillotine to cut the flag "V" out of the bottom.
Kept the stack together and with my Crop-a-dile punch holes an inch from the top edges.
To save time from dragging out my Cricut and finding which font I wanted...I used a Microsoft font at a font size of 88 so it could be seen. Printed it with enough space to be able to cut a border all around.
Glued each letter to solid cardstock and ran green twine through the holes. Quick and this may make me create others for different occasions!
I placed the banner in 3 sections so he could see it walking up the stairs of my raised ranch.

Pastor week cards

We are providing cards to our Pastors at our church on Sunday so I spent some time yesterday creating these cards.
Sentiment and image from Stampin' Up set Faith in Nature. Using various inks from Martha Stewart I stamped the script leaves of 4 different colors.

I scored in various placed to add accents, tried to keep it masculine.

Masculine Good Luck card

Made this card using Tim Holtz embossing folder, the words are a thin long Sizzix die and made corresponding banners raised on foam squares.
