Thank You

I created this card with a few challenges in mind.
What sparked the creation was at Daring Cardmakers - they asked us to make a card using 5 things that is our favorite.
Mine are:
ink (got to have ink - I love ColorBox Cats eyes for great control)
pearls (Basic Grey)
striped pattern paper (Provo Craft)
ribbon (Martha Stewart)
punches (Martha Stewart and SU)
and my cuttlebug (Swiss dots on the butterfly) - ok so that's 6... but I got 5 anyways.

I also made this into a spring card for Charisma Cardz #42 challenge and followed along at Frosted Designed to make it pop. The butterfly is popped up with foam squares, the sentiment is also on foam circles. And the inside butterfly as well is 3D. We also had to have layers which I do. The base card (1), the pattern paer (2) the punches (3)

Fry box - Halloween treats

I am making these for my sisters and brother who are coming over tomorrow.
With the help of Challenge - week 43 at Create4Fun.
and also at Frosted Designed to Make It Pop Challenge

Here is the pattern if any one wants it
I used Martha Stewart stamps (last Season) and Paper Doll Dress Up from Cricut to cut the ghost at 3". The Sentiment and ghost are on foam dots and this is a 3D item.

I DO

Sketchy Thursdays Family Challenge

I am entering this in on Sketchy Thursdays as well as Crafty Catz and for Circle Card or LO on Paper Blooms.
At Sketchy Thursdays we had to create a LO using orange brown and teal - and a family or fall theme. At Crafty Catz we had to use three buttons or brads. At Paper Blooms there had to be a circle on a LO - or the card had to be a circle.
Here is a LO I followed to accomplish this.

Taste... of cake

I followed the Sketchy Thursday LO. This is of my nephew and his new bride - wedding in Sept.

Where there's smoke ...

...there's marshamallows.

Labor day cookout we always toast marshmallows. I made a hand cut marshmallow on a stick.
I used the BINGO card game at MAF for assistance in completing this page. What you dod is choose a row or column. For me because I had 5 pics - I used column "I".

All that glitters...

....must be Christmas. LOL

At Artsy Fartsy Scraproom GS #10 we were to follow their sketch and at MAF we were to use stamps.
I used Stampin' Up stamp image for the reindeer, glitter embossed him and mounted him on foam squares.
On the back ground of the base card I used K&Co swirl stamps, glittered and embossed as well. (Isn't the swirl wonderful!)

Inside sentiments is cut from A Child's Year Cricut Cartridge at 2". I added white dots with my Signo UniBall white pen also from SU.

Happy Birthday Tony

Made this card for my nephew's birthday with the help of three challenges:
Daring Cardmakers - use a clear acent. I used a printer transparency and embossed it using the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday folder.
MAF - to use the sketch below

Challenge #41 - It's So Distressing at Charisma Cardz we are to Distress your card. I used various techniques. I ink various pieces, I crumbled cardstock (under image) and then inked and I also used my Basic Grey distressing files and inked the image piece as well.

Gift Box with Tissue flower

We were shown tonight at our online crop at Memories Always Forever how to make these boxes and tissue bows. I love them!

Here is my go at the box and bow

Here are the directions for the flower:
Flower/Bow:
Using a large circle, or scallop punch (or anything you have to make about a 2 ½ - 3” diameter circle) – punch out circles through several layers of tissue paper. (I used my coluzzle)
Punch a hole in the centre of all pieces of tissue paper, and insert a brad.
Make several random diagonal cuts from outside of circle to about ½” away from the brad.
Separate the tissue paper layers, and scrunch the whole bunch up in your hand.
Release, and dip edges in glitter or ink.
My tissue was already glittered so I did not add to the effect.

JOY - Xmas card

Week 12 - we were provided with a tutorial at Christmas with the Cricut using the layout below and the JOY label.
So I thought i would give it a try.

The Joy sentiment is cut from A Child's Year Circut cartridge at 1 1/4"
The scene was cut at 2 1/4 both raised on foam squares
The sentiment inside is from a challenge at Memories Always Forever for a XMAS recipe challenge

Here is a copy of the wording we had to use at MAF:
Christmas is not a time nor a season,
but a state of mind.
To cherish peace and goodwill,
to be plenteous in mercy,
is to have the real spirit of Christmas.

Wish - birthday card for sis

My sister's birthday is next Saturday and I have highlighted her age (shhhh) by the bingo marker. Happy Birthday Bev!
SU card stock and ribbon
Martha Stewart glitter
CM punch used to make the ring (circle)
Flowers - hmmm can't remember they came in a card kit
This is for three challenges - BBtB use numbers as the main focus and Create4Fun to use the layout provided on Challenge - week 42 and Challenge #41 - It's So Distressing at Charisma Cardz

Love - LO

I started this LO last night - and wanted just the right colors for the mat of my daughter and my father. You see he passed away yesterday, and this picture was taken this past father's day and this pic is special to me. [Love you dad]
I wanted to enter this in The Practical Scrappers "lace" challenge but I didn't realize the deadline was 5:00 PM today, none the less - I love this layout.
The cuts were: the lace flowers - cut to full page from Wild card Cricut cartridge, LOVE was cut from A Child's Year at 2". Ribbon from Michael's, rhinestones (?? I forget)

Sparkle

I made this for three challenges:
Die Cuts R Us - make your own embellishment,
Crafty Catz - use color scheme Black, White and one more color (I chose Red), a ribbon and embellishment (mini brads and glitter) and
I followed the card designed today at Christmas with the Cricut. Week 12: Fancy Card Friday with A Child's Year and Snow Friends
Snowflakes cut at 3 1/5" and 3 1/4"
Tag cut at 1 3/4" and 2"
Sizzix snowflake embossing folder used on black card stock.

Thank You - sis!

Over at Frosted Designs we were challenged today with a Marquee Challenge.
I cut one from Accent Essentials Cricut Cartridged and ran it through the hearts Cuttlebug folder.
Cut out the "&" from Plantin Schoolbook and cut it to resemble the classic breast cancer pink ribbon. (I learned this trick on the Cricut MB). Paired it up with the butterfly punch from Stampin' Up and some pearls. Oh the heart is also a punch from SU.

I made this for my sister who walked with me on October 4th in Boston for the American Cancer Society. Together we raised almost 500.00 thus far.

Thanks sis!

Cuttlebug Challenge be inspired #53

It's Guest Designer Week at Cuttlebug Challenge Be Inspired #53 We are asked to create a Halloween or Fall creation using these colors, and the Cuttlebug folder of our choice.
I actually used the MoJo Monday sketch to help me finish this card this morning.
I used not one but three CB folders. Can you find them!

This is made with my brother in mind, I'll mail it today to thank him for driving us around FL. Us 5 siblings went their to see my dad in the hospital. Hence the inked embossed FAMILY from the Autumn folder.
Love you Larry!! Thanks for putting up with 4 sisters.

I used the Stampin Up Thank You sentiment.
