Bottle Cap Medallion Ornament

I wanted to make an ornament for my sisters (3) and my bother (1) plus me as a remembrance of our dad who passed away a year ago.

I took a non used non crimped bottle cap (thanks Pete!) and ran it through my Cuttlebug to flatten it out. You get a wonderful flare ridge.
Took my Crop-a-Dial and punched two holes in the top and bottom. The top hole is for the hanging string/ribbon. The bottom hole is for a dangle of a charm.
I printed pictures of our dad from last year Father's Day and cut them our with a circle punch. Perfect fit! Glued them to the center.

Now to make the medallion - I saw numerous folks making this as flowers for cards - but I wanted to put it under the bottle cap as I thought it gave it the right above of flare.
I cut a 1" x 12 inch piece of double sided card stock and use my Martha Stewart scoreboard and scored every 1/4". (Could not do this without the scoreboard!)
Fold back and forth and the ends are adhered together with glue to form a circle.
Smush down in the middle and you have a flower of sorts.
Have a couple punch circles ready to put one in the back to keep it all together. I used a glue gun and worked quickly as they will spring back up.

BOO CD repurpose wall hanging

To think last December I hand cut out these darn circles by hand and there on Plantin School book was a circle I could have used - I set the size at 4 3/4" and the letters at 3 1/2"
Added some of those cute images I had on my haunted house - love it!

EDIT: once I cut the circles - I glued them with glue stick to the CD, punched a hole with my Crop-A-Dile. Strung them together with black lace ribbon from SU! and some orange ric rac I got at the thrift store.

Crochet keeper notebook for patterns

This will be used to keep patterns I learn and obtain from either the internet or the Wed Crochet group.

The cover is actually pieces of chipboard that I cut from a Wheat Thin box. Perfect size. I took notebook paper and trimmed it to size and placed inside the covers.
I punched the binder ring holes with my Crop-A-Dile
I added a border using Martha Stewart punch.
Tied various yarn and ribbon to the binder rings.
Added a couple inked Tim Holtz Adage Tickets
Created my own hat pin and weaved it through a couple crochet flowers I made.
Added some pearls to the border strip. Attached the flowers to a Tim Holtz swivel clip.

Used my Cuttlebug to die cut the swirls and added mini pearls as accents.
Entering this in the Cuttlebug Challenge called "Be Inspired #97 Book it" and One stop Craft Challenge - not a card.

Mini Album from paper tubes

I saw this idea on a blog (paperjewels), while blog hopping Friday night. My sister and I just had a birthday (yes, I am a twin) and coincidentally she just gave me a bag of paper towel/toilet paper tubes figuring I could use them for something. Little did she know - I just found the idea and she was getting this surprise mini album.

So I made a mini album using 4 of the tubes, covering them in 6 x 6 in pattern paper. (My Minds Eye)

Used my Crop-a-dile to add large eyelets. Tied multiple strings to binder rings.

Tags cut (Pocket full of Posies - DCWV) and inserted in the opening of each flattened out tube. Also eyelets and ribbon used to the tags. Corner rounder used on the tags.

Cricut Wild card cartridge used for the font.

Martha Stewart butterfly punch also used on the cover.

Faux stitches and paper piercing used

Tied it all together with this fabulous yellow ribbon using two ribbon brads.

Gift Card Holder -Wristlet style

After 2 hours of practice and creating my directions - I have completed this little wristlet/purse! Just in time - I have to leave at 12:30 for a b-day party.
Some directions were given just weren't making sense in my tired head... so I had to start from scratch! I editted it a little.
