Swap card made

We had a shoe-box swap at Elaine's last night.
This is the card I made with the Wetland Stampin' Up set. I just got in on Monday and immediately had to make a masculine (universal) card!

I can't wait to try other techniques as seen in Pinterest and Google with this stamp set.

Masculine Birthday Cards

My twin boys will be 20 and I made these last night to give to them when we take them out to eat.
I used ColorBox base card stock and trimmed it with my new On the Edge Die from Sizzix (Tim Holtz) Iron Works.
Then layered the paper on the cover and down at the bottom using DCWV Old World Stack that I picked up on clearance at JoAnns.
Next I die cut the plaques also from Sizzix and added the Sentiment from SU "Perfectly Penned" and inked the edges.
Using some left over cording from my last project I used it to hang the plaques. I did not glue them down as they are free flowing just to add a different element. Under the plaque I put their age "20".

Masculine Birthday Card

I made this card for my brother in law whose birthday is June 2nd.
I used a Tim Holtz embossing folder and ran my brown ink pad over it and adhered it to black card stock base card. Added a strip of polka dots (My Minds Eye) of 1 1/2" long.

Next layers of brown card stock and an embossed dog holding a balloon!
The sentiment was cut from a Cricut Cartridge, not sure which one as it was in my stash.

My MIL's friend turn 80 also on Mother's day this year.
I made this card and pulled down some facts in history for May 12, 1933.

Here is the tri panel card, stamp set is from Stampin' Up.
Here is the full card in view.

Here are the last two panels.

Rock It Birthday card

Created this masculine birthday card from my "saved" images and pieces bin. Great I am getting my bin down and creating lots of cards in the mean time!!!

The image is from Stampin' Up, the sentiment is from Cricut cartridge (sorry not sure which one as it was cut awhile ago and I didn't use it at the time).
Each layer on the base card is 2 1/2" x 4". Green star scrapbook paper is from ColorBok (got the clearance 12 x 12" pad at Wal-Mart for 2.50! All boy prints). The orange card stock is actually card blanks and I cut circles in it after smashing bottle caps and thought it created a cool pattern!.
All layers included the card base I roughed the edges by using my scissors edge.

Masculine Birthday Card

Using the SU set from the Sale-A-Bration catalog  I used the ferris wheel and the Celebrate stamp.
The images are on a speckled brown paper stationary I had in my stash to keep with the vintage feel. That piece was cut to 4" x 3 1/4".
The next layer (black) was cut at 4 1/4" x 3 1/2" and I used the ticket corner punch (SU retired) on all the layers.

The accent strip on the left is cut from the speckled paper at 5" x 1 1/2".
To finish the front off, I added two deep purple flat back pearls.

Happy 50th Masculine Birthday Card

I needed a male birthday card, and created this tri-panel card.
The first panel has a Happy Birthday Stamp from SU and some cuttings from Tim Holtz on the edge die. All pieces and card was inked with brown StudioG ink.

The next two panels have a pocket - which I made tags to go in which depicts the age of the recipient.
Each tag has a sticker number and has some handwritten sentiment tucked below the pocket view.

I made the banner flag using Stampin' Up flag punch set.
Below the flag is a ticket stamp and punched that says admit one! (also a SU stamp!)

Male Birthday card

I made this card for my brother who has a birthday coming up in a few weeks.
The background was embossed using the stripes SU Sizzix Embossing folder.
I took varouis designer series paper and made tag and alternated them.
I raised the little pointed flag and the sentiment tag.

The sentiment is from the stamp set Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

Star tri fold Happy Birthday card

This is an angled tri-fold card, I used the Sizzix big die and cut out various star shapes and glued them to the angel cut of the card.

Added a Happy Birthday sentiment from Stampin Up Teeny Tiny Wishes
This can be a boy or girl birthday card.

Masculine birthday cards

I used a sketch I believe I saw in a Stampin Up publications (I had torn out the sample card and threw the rest away) and put my own twist on it. Their version was feminine and was not embossed.

All material used is Stampin Up. I embossed the A2 cardstock using an embossing folder (Sizzix SU!). Used some scraps from Well Worn paper pack cut to 4" x 3".
Added some linen thread to the top and through the embosed button. (I tried to color it with ink to look like a wood button).

The sentiment is a portion only of a full stamp image from the set of EasyEvents that I just inked the sentiment and not the cupcake!

Manly Retirement card

Another co-worker of mine retired and since he was previously in the Navy some 20 years ago, I added map printed scrapbook paper depicting the sea and a compass.
The double embossing is done by Stampin' up Sizzix Embossing folders.
The compass brad is from Oriental trading.
I think the pattern paper is also from Stampin' Up. (It was in my scrap pile so not sure).
The sentiment on the cover is from Stampin' Up Teeny Tiny Wishes and the inside sentiment is from Michael's dollar bin from years and years ago.

Masculine Birthday Card

This is one of three cards I'll be making at a class in my home this month.

All items from Stampin' Up.
I stamped the fabulous old fashion truck image onto whisper white card stock. Cut a 2 1/2" strip of card stock and ran that through a SU embossing folder.
Border punch the green accent piece and layers the sentiment on top.

Masculine Birthday card

Seems to be a trend for me needing masculine birthday cards.
Here is a one layer card where I used torn paper and sponging techniques to create the road, grass, mountains and clouds.

The red sports car is a Stampin' Up image.
Happy Birthday to my nephew Andy today.

Masculine birthday card with lots of texture

I made this a few weeks back, but I do not think I posted it to my blog.
I was comissioned to make a male birthday card for some one who is blind.
I used a lot of texture to the inside and outside of this "sound recording" card.

I used flat brads, I embossed the card, added bakers twine and a brass book plate to the cover.
The inside I added this quilled balloon and where the recipient would hit the play button, I added a flat brad as well so he knew where to follow his finger.

Masculine Birthday card

Here is another male birthday card I made, this time also for another brother in law for February too! I mailed this last week as Chris' birthday was the 10th.
I used the Stampin' Up stamp Countryside stamp set for the front and inside image.
The ribbon and brad I believe is a retired color from Stampin' Up. The sentiment is actuary a clear sticker from my stash mounted on a couple Stampin' Up punches. Sorry for the glare on the inside picture.

Masculine Birthday card

My brother in law Frank, birthday is today and I mailed and made this yesterday for him. I love the old pickup truck from the Countryside stamp set from Stampin' Up. (120495) If you would like this set let me know as I am a Stampin' Up demonstrator!

I inked the edge of the card and image, layered the front of the card with - get this - wall paper - I just love the colors of the stripes and went well with my ink, the wallpaper is very smooth of the stripes.
Added a file folder punch with the Happy Birthday stamp from my stash. The inside sentiment is from Studio G from Michael's. The little apple stamp is also from the same stamp set "Countryside".

Male Birthday card - rockin' it!

I love the Stampin' stamps as these pertain to rock music!
I made this for my nephew whose birthday is next week.

Ran the base layer through the CB and as mentioned the images are all SU.

I used the layout from Stampin 411 and the theme from allsorts (which I think I missed the entry point)

Birthday pop up

We are heading out my BIL's today and I was just told it was his birthday 2 weeks ago (10th!). OMG
I must make a birthday book to remember all these birthdays! So after a meeting I had tonight I had to try and make a masculine card.

Here is what i came up and finished at midnight, too tired to post then I am posting now....
Stamp image is from Inkandinkado Illuminata. I used SU ink and ribbon Wild Wasabi on cream colored paper. I wanted something different so I used the highlighted method as seen in the rust colored circles cut from my Coluzzle.

Inside I did a pop up - also stamped in my stash from SU! And ran an embossed border from the clocks Cuttlebug folder
I smashed a bottle cap in my Cuttlebug and proceeded to die cut a circle from my Cuttlebug and stamp a little candle on it. It is suspended off the ribbon by 28 gauge wire.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Priscillas styles - use Layout
Fabulous Friday's use metal
Cuttlebug spot pop it up
Kaboodle Doodle - a fold we have not used in awhile
Simon Says - Coffee and cream color theme
Tuesday Throwdown - a 3D creation (Thanks coach fan!)
