OWH Blog Hop

Hello all I am one of many who are participants in the Operation Write Home blog hop today!! This hop kicked off at 10:00 EST 7:00 PST.

What is Operation Write Home you may ask? It is a group of volunteers (and you can too) who create blank cards for our heroes to send home while they are away and on duty service our country - for more information check out their blog.
Because we have to make cards ahead of time - we are on Easter and Mother's Day.
Easter card deadline is March 18th and Mother's Day deadline is March 31st to mail our blank cards to our shipper.
You should have come from Amy's blog and now onto my hopping point as I am next.
This card I made at my stamp night using Stampin' Up products.

This card shows a couple techniques - one is using ribbon as an accent and the other is direct to stamp inking.

First the ribbon: I like ribbon as it adds another layer other than paper. Take a piece of ribbon and tape it to the back of one of the top layers. If you want to ad a little cinching take a piece of thread and tie a little piece around the ribbon for a great effect. Here I added the ovals and sentiment it is attached to the cinched area of the ribbon by a glue dot.

Second the direct to stamp inking: Using markers - color directly onto the stamp and then press the stamp to your paper. You get a wonderful watercolor or exact coloring technique depending on the style of your image.
Hope you will give it a try. I am giving away some blog candy. You must be a follower of my blog and leave a comment on this posting. Below is a set of Martha Stewart heart and flower clear stamps.
Now for your next hop to Jan's blog Thanks and enjoy!

What a lovely card. I sure do like to use ribbon as much as possible too. It adds dimension to the card.
