CRICUT CARD FAIRY 2nd BLOG Hop this Friday

Please come back on Friday for our second blog hop with candy at every stop.

Birthday Wishes for my niece and nephew

Alycia - if you are reading this BEFORE your card comes - STOP :^)
(You see my niece subscribes to my blog and I don't want her to see her card. Her and her twin brother will be 12 tomorrow and I made and mailed their cards today and they will get them tomorrow!)

Here is a tent card for my nephew Benjamin, I learned how to make this card last night on Momo's Ustream class. I never saw this one before. She showed us 4 diff card techniques and this one caught my eye.
I added strips of stickers to the top of the aperture. I hope you can see that.

Now for Alycia's card - (You better not be reading LOL)
I used the joy fold technique - also taught by Momo last night, I have done these before - but her directions and video was so easy to understand.

Here is the front

Here is the inside.

All I have seen

Created this card in memory of a young girl at the age of 14 who passed away on Wednesday. Her schoolmate friend is grieving and I want to send her this card.

I had bought this lovely stamp set years ago with the thought it would help me make the sympathy cards in a thoughtful way. The stamp set and inks are from SU! The border punch is MS and the rhinestones are from M's.

To help me create this card - I used the sketch and color theme at The Pink Elephant

With Sympathy

Created this card after my daughter told me of her friend's younger sister loosing a dear friend at the early age of 14. I cannot imagine what the parents are going through.

here is one Sympathy card I am sending.

To aid me - I used the Color Create challenge of lilac, yellow and mint.
Background embossed with CB folder
Inks used are SU, ribbon is from SU! and sentiment from a LSS store - labeled Heather

OWH challenge

I made this card last night I am gathering a group of friends Wednesday night to help make more of them to send to OWH (you see mine is the sample). When I saw this challenge I said "Great LO and easy for newbies". I kept it simple.

I am making 6 different samples for the team to create a bunch of cards for our "Card Birthday Party". I hope to make between 50 - 100 cards to send to Dixie for the troops/Heroes. I have the card stock cut for the various cards, so they just have to stamp and assemble. I'll be posting more tomorrow and through out the week.

Here is the card I created using the sketch at OWH Stars and Stripes
The cute ghost is a 1.00 stamp I picked up yesterday at Michael's I couldn't resist and thought everyone would get a kick out of him.
** It is a little empty at the bottom - going to add some bats - from a very old punch I have **

The inside sentiment is also a 1.00 stamp from M's I picked up last year or so.

Washer Pendants

Well I finally got this crossed off my to craft list - Washer pendants.
I went to the hardware store yesterday and bought three (I gave my niece Alycia one and didn't take a pic) washers. I like this one for the size.

Luckily when I got home I had the exact paper punches to punch the card stock to fit the holes of the washers. I learned this technique here and here.

I showed my sons and they thought I bought them! Cool.

I used Mod Podge to glue the cs to the front of the washer.
I then put a layer of Liquid Embossing to give it a glaze.
While it was still wet I added bling. Waited overnight and added another layer of Liquid Embossing.
At M's I could not find the satin cording but I found leather cording which I like better because it is thinner. Looked through my two drawers of beads and found these metallic ones.

I have entered this in Allsorts challenge - anything less than 3"

Crochet keeper notebook for patterns

This will be used to keep patterns I learn and obtain from either the internet or the Wed Crochet group.

The cover is actually pieces of chipboard that I cut from a Wheat Thin box. Perfect size. I took notebook paper and trimmed it to size and placed inside the covers.
I punched the binder ring holes with my Crop-A-Dile
I added a border using Martha Stewart punch.
Tied various yarn and ribbon to the binder rings.
Added a couple inked Tim Holtz Adage Tickets
Created my own hat pin and weaved it through a couple crochet flowers I made.
Added some pearls to the border strip. Attached the flowers to a Tim Holtz swivel clip.

Used my Cuttlebug to die cut the swirls and added mini pearls as accents.
Entering this in the Cuttlebug Challenge called "Be Inspired #97 Book it" and One stop Craft Challenge - not a card.

OWH Any Hero Card #4

Made my last OWH any hero card so it could be mailed today.
Used the sketch from Clean & simple #104
Ribbon from SU!
Border punches from MS
The inside was a message I wrote to a non specific soldier whom they dub as heroes.
I wanted to somewhat mimic the red white and blue and stars.

Hello - Any Hero card #3

I really hoped to get 4 cards done - well this is the third one.

It's for the Any Hero cards, where we right a message from home to be given to any hero.

I used the layout from Raise the Bar and entering this card at Penny Black at Allsorts in hopes to be on their design team. The card had to have a PB image and glitzy.

I used a PB image, the work hello is single alphabets stamps from Hero Arts that I have had for 20 years. The flowers are Prima and the prisma paper is by Colorbok. I embossed the base card with the Cuttlebug Stylyzed Flowers embossing folder.

Anyway - to thank the lady I made her this card.

The scrap background (beige/cream) is actually textured wall paper.
I CB with D'vine Swirl embossing folder.

OWH Any Hero Card

On the fb page of Operation Write home they asked for any hero cards to be made.
So here is one of 4 that I hope to get done and mailed today if not tomorrow. Unlike the blank cards. Any Hero cards have a personal message from me to the hero. So they get mail as well.

Because my card could go to a male or female I kept the colors neutral on this one.
I used the Tim Holtz stamp on this and faux stitching. The sentiment is from Stampendous.

I used the sketch from Create4Fun to help me get this quick card accomplished.
At Pollycraft Monday - use of stitches
At Anything Goes wanted three layers - so this LO was perfect.
