Mickey head bottlecap necklace

I am making these for an upcoming craft fair and selling them for $5.00.
I bought bottle caps that already had the bail on them to save time from punching a hole in the bottlecap or trying to add on a bail.
Using an EK Success one inch punch I punched various glitter paper and E6000 them to the caps and glued on the rhinestone Mickey heads.

I bought corresponding suede/leather cording and cut to lengths that they can be slipped over the heads, however I did finish them off with a sliding knot so they can be adjusted.

Domino necklace

I made and donated this necklace for a fundraiser.
Taking a Domino I Mod Podge a print from a catalog.
Edged it with a silver sharpie and added a layer of paper glaze to seal it all in.
Added black cording, 24" and a slider knot for the recipient to adjust the length.

Wire wrapping stone necklace

I took a class last fall on wire wrapping. I was hoping the class was more than was taught to us so I'll seek out YouTube for further studies.
In any event, here is the result.
By using specific silver wire made for wrapping I wrapped around the stone and made a loop at the top to be able to secure it to the chain.
I added a silver jump ring so the pendant can hang properly.
I cut a length of 20" chain, added a lobster claw for the closer.
This is being donated for a benefit.

Tassel bead necklaces

I bought these crackle beads in Key West last week and wasn't sure what I was going to make with them.

I decided to make Christmas presents in the form of tassel necklaces.
I bought the completed 18" necklaces from Michael's craft store today, made the jump ring and formed the bead chain and firsr attached the bead to the necklace chain.
I then cut chain in 5 pieces: 9 links, 11 links, 13 links, 11 links and lastly one more at 9 links then added them to another jump ring attached to the end of the bead chain.
I'm so into tassles since I learned how to at a class. (I'll post that in a post later on in the week.)

Treble Clef pendants

After watching a YouTube video (made by Jocelyn D.) I couldn't wait to make a few!
I started out with a 4.25 inches of wire where you start making the inner circle (swirl) and follow upwards to make the s shape.

I added little birthday stone for fun, I added this thin round leather cord but it will be changed to something else... I'll post folow up pictures once I finish the set.

Dragonfly necklaces

I purchased these dragonfly beads to make them into pendants at the Bead Expo this past weekend and spent some time last night creating these necklaces. I am hoping to sell them at a craft fair.
More to come!

Scrabble Tile necklaces

Here are 9 different pieces remade repurposed from old Scrabble game.

This dragonfly I made for me, I am partial to pink.
This is what the back of the game pieces looks like.
This one I made for my sister who loves butterflies. I'll mail it this week once the weather cools down (mid to low 90s all week) as a little surprise for her.

Bottlecap necklace with key charm

I love to make these quick necklaces, added an image from Etsy, used a bubble bottlcap seal - so much better than glue or other crystal effects/diamond glace... I have tried a few and will stick with using that method on dominoes.
But for now - quick and clean is how you can achieve with the use of the bubble stickers.
I added a key charm (handmade jump ring) and a pink chain both from Wal-Mart. Can't wait to wear it tomorrow!

DPhiE Scrabble Necklaces

This is my second and last gift for my daughter and a couple of her sorority sisters.
I printed the image off of Google Image search and printed it on photo paper.

Cut it out to fit the scrabble tile and put a couple layers of Dimensional Magic. It was my first time using it so I still need to perfect the environment. Waiting a night before proceeding to the bail.

Then glued (E6000) on the flower bail that I bought online at an etsy shop, waiting for an over night hardening.

Strung the brown hemp, added two metal beads on either side of the bail. Added the paw print (to represent the college mascot at Northeastern University; The Husky) charm which I also got from an etsy shop to a split ring (that was hard as the split ring is so tight and small).

Tied the necklaces using a sliding knot. Hope they like! Oh, by the way I used their initial from the scrabble tile to distinguish whose is whose, however the flower bail took up half of the letter... oh well.

Crochet Necklace covered button

I saw this necklace on a blog, however it appeared that a portion of the directions were not accurate, or I simply could not comprehend (ha!). So I made my own pattern.

With a number 9 crochet hook and some crochet thread (size 20) I think I used a thicker thread, you ch 6 and slip stitch into a circle. That is your center
First Row; ch 1, then dc 13 more, then slip stitch.
Second Row; ch 2 (this will be your first dc so to speak), then ch 4 more, dc into your second dc from Row 1, ch 4 then skip a dc and dc into the next dc, continue until you have 7 loops. (like an open petal)
Third Row, which you can't see; this starts to form a cup to house your fabric covered button. More to come on that.
Third Row; ch 3 then dc into each loop that was made in Row 2, continue until you reach the last, slip stitch closed and pull about 12 inches of thread.
You will use this thread to close the back around the button.

Next, go to your stash of buttons (we all have them) find a size that will fit inside your casing. My button was a semi flat button about 3/4" in diameter. You can use a button with a shank. Get a cotton ball or some batting. Cut  a 1 1/2" circle from a scrap of fabric. I used an older burgundy table napkin.
Take a small bit of cotton/batting and place it in the middle of the fabric circle.
Place the button face down on the fabric and with a needle and thread sew a running stitch around the edge of the circle, pull the thread and now your button is cushioned and encased in the fabric circle. sew tightly closed.

Place this button into your crochet casing, with the crochet thread that you cut in reserve, proceed to criss cross the thread up and down in a somewhat nice pattern, I tried to make a star by weaving the loose thread up then over to the right then to the left...

To make the chain it sits on, just do a million, well not a million.... sure felt like it, chain stitches. Click the second picture to see my chain. Attach your covered button by a jump ring. Of course I could not find my nice silver jump rings and had to use an ugly thick jump rings. You can attach any hanging embellishment as well.

I am not an avid crocheter and hope you can understand the directions.

Game piece necklaces

I made these two necklaces for my son's girlfriend. Lucky for her she works at AC Moore! So I wanted to just make her a couple crafty things.

One is my domino necklaces (she likes yellow), paper from a catalog glued to the domino. Edged with a silver marker. Glaze on top and strung with black cording.
The other is my first scrabble tile necklace! On the back is her letter A for her first name on natural cording.
I obtained the verse from Google and added rhinestones to the side.

Crochet necklaces

Hi Folks,
You may have seen my post from last year, but since I sold out of my crochet necklaces at last years craft fair. I made more for this year's craft fair too!
I sell them for only 5.00

Here are a few of the couple dozen I made.
The silver bead you see is actually the end slider to allow for different lengths.

game piece necklaces

My friend sent me these game pieces and also drilled the hole for me, this is some more of what I will be selling in a couple weeks at a craft fair!
Inked the back ground, rubber stamped the swirl leaf image added bling and covered in a glaze. The piece is hung from a jump ring and I added a braided cord with a slider closer.
Here is a short video where I explain the process.
