Birthday Aperture swirl vine accents

Wanted to make a vine like card for my sister's birthday this week.
I cut an aperture with my Circle Scissors and embossed the front of the card.
With a Quikutz thinlets die I die cut random swirls and glued them in place to act as vines for the butterflies.

Inside I layered some very old patterned paper and included one more butterfly and the Tim Holtz happy birthday sentiment die set which i have been using all week!
 Another quick birthday card!

Masculine Birthday Cards

My twin boys will be 20 and I made these last night to give to them when we take them out to eat.
I used ColorBox base card stock and trimmed it with my new On the Edge Die from Sizzix (Tim Holtz) Iron Works.
Then layered the paper on the cover and down at the bottom using DCWV Old World Stack that I picked up on clearance at JoAnns.
Next I die cut the plaques also from Sizzix and added the Sentiment from SU "Perfectly Penned" and inked the edges.
Using some left over cording from my last project I used it to hang the plaques. I did not glue them down as they are free flowing just to add a different element. Under the plaque I put their age "20".

Get Well Card

I learned at work on Thursday that a young woman was in a motorcycle accident over the Memorial Day weekend. Here is a card I made this morning to send off to her.

Base is a deep green ColorBok card stock layered by 5 1/4" x 4" red card stock.
I added the blue Tim Holtz Sizzix bird cage and followed by the SU bird and twig punch.
It is layered on a pale pink pattern paper at 4" x 2 1/4" and then a light brown pattern paper (I pulled the red from the pattern paper to match the base) cut at 4" x 1 3/4".

Hope she mends well.

Masculine Birthday Card

I made this card for my brother in law whose birthday is June 2nd.
I used a Tim Holtz embossing folder and ran my brown ink pad over it and adhered it to black card stock base card. Added a strip of polka dots (My Minds Eye) of 1 1/2" long.

Next layers of brown card stock and an embossed dog holding a balloon!
The sentiment was cut from a Cricut Cartridge, not sure which one as it was in my stash.

Happy Retirement

Well another co-worker took the early retirement option at work. They all seem to be taken another opportunity I wish I was able to take. How I envy a person to jump at that chance to shift their life's journey.

It'll be sad to lose another co-worker/friend that made the job bearable. In any event I created this card last night and tried to write my sentiments inside. Didn't help by watching The Final Episode of The Office! I was watching the pre-show and the actors relating the show to the character they played, it was sad and here I was trying to struggle through saying goodbye and goog luck!

The past two weeks have been encompassed with lots of changes in my life as folks move on, move out and graduate. Life is full of changes and growth comes with that.

The card above was embossed using the Sizziz Tim Holtz Postage embossing folder, Martha Stewart border punch on a strip of card stock (2 3/4" x 4 1/4") for an accent layer for the Stampin' Up sentiment (Teeny Tiny Wishes). Both the embossing and the sentiment pieces were inked for details.

Happy Friday!

Get Well Wishes

A couple of my friends have family members who have very ill. I created two of these cards last evening and truly hope for good results.

The embossing is a Tim Holtz embossing folder with a compass image; embossed on whisper white card stock.
The sprig of leaves is a Sizzix die I got from a yard sale a couple weeks ago for .25!!
The bird is from Stampin' Up (raised on foam squares) as well as the sentiment.
The border is a punch from Martha Stewart.

For You Bird cage card

I sent a RAK to Lisa and Yolanda where I stamped a lot of Stampin' Up Tags as they do so much tag creations on you tube.

To go long with the various tags I created this card.
Base card was corner edges and run through the swirl cuttlebug folder and inked to bring out the details.
Next I punched a border using a Martha Stewart border punch.

Mounted a bird cage and bird from a Sizzix Tim Holtz die and finished it off with a for you tag from Stampin' Up.

Happy 50th Masculine Birthday Card

I needed a male birthday card, and created this tri-panel card.
The first panel has a Happy Birthday Stamp from SU and some cuttings from Tim Holtz on the edge die. All pieces and card was inked with brown StudioG ink.

The next two panels have a pocket - which I made tags to go in which depicts the age of the recipient.
Each tag has a sticker number and has some handwritten sentiment tucked below the pocket view.

I made the banner flag using Stampin' Up flag punch set.
Below the flag is a ticket stamp and punched that says admit one! (also a SU stamp!)

Beaded Spine Birthday Reminder Book

Using a recycled snack box that had a 1 1/2" spine I covered it with Stampin' Up designer series paper.

I added the Tim Holtz Sizzix Clock die also glued a layer of cardboard to the pattern paper before cutting, made it easier to cut.
The frilly flowers, a bridal pearl sprig and a netted butterfly were from a party decorating craft type store in Florida. Can't wait to go back!!!

I love the beads and pearls they go perfectly with the pattern paper.
Hope you enjoy the video and please leave comments so I may visit you too.

Beaded spine sketch journal

I could not wait to make this type of spine with beads!!!
All products are from recycled items. I did not have to buy anything - whew!!!
The base of the journal was a brownie mix box. Yes - I cut it down and the side of the box was the perfect 1.5" spine!

The beads were from a yard sale/flea market find a couple years ago.

The paper I used was from my stash from Stampin' Up!. Please enjoy this video and I made another one tonight!

Santa's Sleigh

I used a pattern from Jim Hankins, The Gentleman Crafter and immediately created my version.
Jim used pattern paper, I painted and repurposed an old FedEx shipping box.
I hand cut the sides of the sleigh and with multiple coats of acrylic red paint I set it to dry.

I measured and followed the back piece by using my On The Edge Sizzix Tim Holtz die to create the fancy back and front edges.

All sides, bottom and the secret seat/lift compartment were all hot glued in place.

I created the headlights by using snowflake brads
The license plate is also a Sizzix die that I glued to another piece of the re-purpose box.

The reins are made by threading the gold glitter cording through soem retired Stampin' Up hardware.
My video is available on YouTube you can click the link or watch it below.

Crackle Paint Fall tag

I used Ranger's Pine Needle crackle paint by Tim Holtz on my hand made tag.
I've had this paint for some time and finally used it, I guess I hoard my craft supplies!
I then embossed the Inkadinkado leaf image with gold sparkle emossing powder

If you like more details I put together a video to show all the details and supplies I used.

6 x 6 mini album acrylic painted covers made from corrugated box

I wanted to use the natural material from a shipping box. My daughter had received some shoes from an online store and the shipping corrugated box was in perfect condition with hardly any writing to it. I cut (2) 6" x 6" pieces and painted them with my acrylic paints.
Cut 12 x 12 cardstock in half and glue stick the 6 x 12 in half to make studier pages. I bound it all with my Cinch.

Great way to repurpose and get a different feel to the covers of your mini.
Please see the video for more details on the cover and the pages. Thanks for stopping by!

10 minute card

Hi Folks, I am calling this my 10 minute card because I had just a few minutes to create a card that I wanted to send to my daughter today.
So with my supplies and scraps I created this card.
If you watched my video yesterday, you will see the layout of this card came from the last page of the mini.
I liked how I laid out the swirl, the butterfly and the sentiment label that I wanted to reproduce the layout into a card.
Because the card is a darker blue, I continued the theme and layout to the inside of the card.
The materials I used on this card is as follows:
Front: Stampin' Up Tulip border embossing folder, Sizzix (Tim Holtz) swirl die, Stampin' Up (Sizzix) Butterfly embosslit die, and Spellbinders label die for the sentiment. Sentiment is from SU as well. Gems from Recollection collection at Michael's.
Inside: Sizzix (Tim Holtz) swirl die (there are two different swirls on the die), Stampin' Up (Sizzix) Butterfly embosslit die (there are 5 different little butterflies to use on the die), and Spellbinders label die for the journaling.

Thanks for reading and stopping by!

Sentiment from Technique Tuesday:
Entered this at AllSorts - keep it simple challenge. This was a quick but effective card - I did not want to take away from my meaning to my daughter.

Tim Holtz Vintage Clock mini Album

I enjoyed making this album tonight - the foundation are used CD's and the inspiration is Tim Holtz Vintage Clock and Bird Cage dies. I also used the large Butterfly from Spelbinders and various products from Prima and Stampin Up to name a few. Also on the cover is vintage music sheet from 1940's!

Please enjoy the video and I have put together a kit to make one more that I will be selling if anyone is interested!
