OWH S&S Sketch 88 - Halloween card

We had to follow the sketch at S&S

I love that they give you all the measurements!

This pumpkin I made with three little oval punches, a flower punch as the leaves, and as the vines a letter I had die cut that was sitting on my table! I cut it up and glued it behind the ovals. All raised on foam.

CRAFT challenge 107 and OWH sketch

This week as I continue my guest design team spot at CRAFT challenge blog - I got the help of great sketch at OWH S&S. (see below)

I embossed the purple accent layer with the hearts Cuttlebug embossing folder. Hand sewn a running stitch to the orange accent piece. Added gems to the wonderful image from sponsor Aifactory who is this weeks sponsor at CRAFT challenge blog.

The sentiment is a tiny stamp from Studio G. I mailed this to my daughter who is in college to wish her well and love as she progresses through her summer semester.

Summer thoughts

I created this card for my daughter as she is starting her summer session at the University by using the LO from OWH Stars & Stamps and the theme of punches at CRAFTS and ME

My base layer however is a border punch edging all the way around (Martha Stewart)
I use adhesive chipboard pieces for the flower and sprinkled glitter on them as well.Link
The inside I used a matching piece of pp that I used on the outside.

Butterflies for Easter OWH S&S sketch

I love this simple clean sketch from OWH S&S blog they just posted.
It help me complete two more Easter cards - wahoo! Here is one. I used SU paper and the Embosslet butterflies to folow the theme and sketch. As soon as I saw that heart - I knew I wanted to substitute the butterfly in it's spot.
Here is the inside - I had to hand write what I wanted to say as I didn't have the right sentiment.

Welcome new followers and the winner

Hello to all my new followers from the OWH Bunny Blog hop!
I little about myself. I am a mom of three children - we have our oldest daughter (who gets a weekly card from mom!) in college and twin boys soon to be graduating this year and also going to college in the fall.

I have been crafting oh gosh - forever.... as a child and in my early adult years with sewing and fabric albums (remember those - LOL), then in mid to late 90's I got into scrapbooking - I have over 20 albums completed and then into card making. I love new techniques and have a "to make wish list". Last year I taught myself to make crochet flowers (my very talented sister guided me along) butterflies and hearts all from youtube videos. I couldn't see paying 1.00 a flower and took it as a personal challenge! Recently I am learning and wanting to get into book making and binding (my SIL and I will be getting together soon) so you see I love the gambit of crafting and creating and hope you will comment as i would love to visit your blogs too!

Ok - onto the winner! I have chosen the winner using Random org, and the commenter and follower is

Operation Write Home blog hop today

Thank you all who enjoyed this hop. We hope to do this again,
Please feel free to still visit. I have pulled the winner of the blog candy.

We hope you can join and hop in our Valentine hop for cards for heroes.
Valentine's you say... yes! Because we have to make card well in advance of a holiday - this month it is a Valentine card. (the deadline is January 7th if you like to make some blank cards to send so the heroes have cards to send back home, all the information is at the OWH home page.)
Here is the card I made last night in prep of this hop. When my Stampin' Up demonstrator showed me her version - I sat down with some scraps and got to work. Her's had a beautiful rhinestone in the middle - but I wanted to add a butterfly and pearls. I also altered mine with a border punch as a strip accent. I also Cuttlebug embossed the base white card stock and inked the edges. If you are wondering what this technique is called, it's called a pinwheel card. In a separate post here are the directions. (this post is rather long)
Thanks for stopping by - now on to Stacie (who is after me) at My Creative Side

I am offering these Adornit Dimensional stickers.
To qualify - please leave a comment here and tell me a little bit what you learned about Operation Write Home. I will draw the winner next Monday and o be sure to come back and see if you have won. I'll leave how the winner can contact me to claim the prize on Monday.

It all starts at the home site if you want to start there OWH Stars and Stamps.
Ends at the Homefront Blog
I am entering this card in the Anything Goes challenge for embossing.

Please vote for OWH at Joanns

We are hoping that Operation Write home will get the most votes, you see they came through in the semi finals and need votes on the above site.
You can vote once per day. One vote per household (IP address identifies the home)

OWH challenge sketch

Hope you all don't mind - but today I have a lot of Halloween cards to make and using the challenges will help me get them done!
Here is the first one as I am using the sketch #38 from OWH S&S

I love it as they give you the dimensions to cut the pieces.

I used the Cute Changito Stamp I picked up at M's yesterday. I've been eying it for a LONG time.
Left over Recollection card stock from the CD wall hanging let me use 5 diff colors and patterns for the Get Funky challenge.
I distressed the edges with ink and the edges of my scissors, raised both the frame and image on foam tape. The bat was punched from pattern paper from an unknown punch I have had for years!!!

OWH Challenge #7 love

To help me complete this challenge at OWH fb challenge #7 I used the layout from Card Patterns

Image from SU!, embossing powder from Inkadinkado, ribbon from Target, patten paper from Provo Craft, I embossed the background with the Sizzix paisley folder.

Holiday Season - sentiment focal point

At OWH and Bah Humbug! the card had to have the sentiment as the focal point.

I bought this stamp a long long time ago (it's by Inkadinkado) and with it being so large - it fits perfect on an A2 card.

Layers and foam mounted it for height.
Add a couple rows of satin ribbon and little rhinestone for bling.

OWH Ch#5 6-8:00PM Bling it Up!

Well this was a challenge for me - at OWH fb page the next challenge is Bling it Up!
I use some awesome prismic (sp?) cardstock I bought a Target and punched one out usign a large MS border punch.
Added some gems to the center of the scallop flowers and stamped the swirls and sentiment using SU ink. Added pearls to the sentiment and raised it up using foam squares.

The camera does strange thing due to the prism paper.

FB Birthday Bash! Challenge #4: baby-child card

At OWH fb page - this hour challenge is to create a child's card that one would write home a letter to a wee one. To save for years to come.
Background embossed with Swiss Dots, border punch is from Martha Stewart, sentiment from Unity Stamp - and the baby rubber stamp is from Marabel

FB Birthday Bash! Challenge #2: Indian Summer

Well I missed the timing on Ch#2 but I wanted to partake in it anways.
On fb page of OWH - not wanting summer to end - we were asked to make a Indian Summer card.
Here is my take - using SU! stamps, ink and paper. The leaf punch is from Marvy Uchida

OWH My three words

Hi Folks some of you may know that I send cards to our hero's (see side blinkie) called Operation Write Home. (OWH)

We create blank cards so our heroes over seas can send a letter home. All cards, time and shipping is done by volunteers.

We were asked if we wanted to send three words to them - and OWH created a video - my words can be seen at 2:16 Please Keep Safe

Season's Greeting

Created this card mainly for the OWH challenge blog they provided sketch #34 for us to follow and I used the challenge of no red and green on a Christmas card at Pollycraft Monday. Also the technique of sanding white core card stock which I love to do to enhance a Cuttlebug embossing background. In this case the snowflakes for Practical Scrappers.
Sentiment from Inkadinkado

Tree from SU
