Beach ornament

Here is another Pinterest try.
I had every thing at home already.
Sand from Michael's
Stick and cardstock from my stash
Sea shells from various beaches
 Glued twine to holder.
I think they came out cute. Hardest part is getting the stick to stay up straight...

Cloth covered plastic Dollar Tree candy canes

Saw this on Pinterest where you take the plastic candy canes from Dollar Tree and wrap them in material.
Using my hot glue gun and one inch strips of fabric, start glueing on either on.

Wrap the cane tightly and adding a little glue to hold it in place.
Added a bow and a button.
Here is the lot I made this morning

Birdcage ornaments or package ties

I made 8 of these to give away and sell in the store. Quite fun to make.

I started out with gluing cardstock to cardboard

Ran it the the Big Shot with the Tim Holtz birdcage die (they cut through cardboard wonderfully)

I then took some white paint and brushed it over the cardstock to dim down the colors

Hot glued some paper flowers

Sprinkled some glitter and tied on a hanging string.

Reindeer ornament from cork

Is this not the cutest reindeer all decked out for Christmas! ?!!!
My daughter made this for me and I love it.

She bought the beads and wire from Michael's and I had the bag of 100 corks  from a previous purchase.

It took quite awhile to make so I feel honored to have one!

Repurpose old fashion Christmas light bulbs

I bought a bag of these at a yard sale years ago and finally got to glitter them up.
The glitter was ultra fine (actually was a fall clearance bundle also on clearance years ago.) Mod Podge Matte the outside and not the cap. Added green hook wires and hot glued ribbon around the wire and cap. Final step to keep glitter sealed in (before adding ribbon) was a clear spray sealer.
Thought about what else it needed so punched out a saying and hung it off the wire. Now to package up for craft fair!

Vintage ornament

This is a picture of my parents back in the 50's, my dad was in the Air Force (which later I understand was the Air division of the Army) .
My dad passed in 2009 and my mom passed in 1972 so any picture I have is precious. Each year since 2009 I make an ornament for my siblings and myself.
I took some wood cutouts that had a butterfly in the middle and using my Circle Scissors tool cut out scrapbook paper and the image, glued it to the front and added a vintage colored heart charm (from Michael's) . Can't wait to give them to my 4 siings this Christmas.

Dollar Tree blocks into ornaments

I bought a box of 9 children blocks at Dollar Tree.

Spray painted them and drilled a hole in the top.
Added twine, lace, buttons, etc with my hot glue gun. Lastly I added the hook and twine to hang.

Cornstarch and baking soda ornaments

My friend and I made these last week as ornaments and package tie ons.

You take 2 C Baking Soda and 1 C Cornstarch combine with a 1 1/4 C of water and cook over medium heat until it's the consistency of mashed potatoes.

Form into a dough mound and roll it out. We experimented with different items such as rubber stamps, doily and textured place mats to get the different - texture.
