Hello cards for GDT submission

This is my last week as Guest Design Team member at CRAFT Challenge blog

This week we were to make a card for challenge 217 "For the Girls".
I used a cute Digi Stamp by Pink Gem Studios called "Birds in a Row". These cards were made for my daughter and her two friends.
I embossed the base layer with the fancy swirl Cuttlebug folder
The sentiment stamp is from SU and the coloring I used were Gel glossy pens.

Swap card made

We had a shoe-box swap at Elaine's last night.
This is the card I made with the Wetland Stampin' Up set. I just got in on Monday and immediately had to make a masculine (universal) card!

I can't wait to try other techniques as seen in Pinterest and Google with this stamp set.

Card Set

I created this card set months ago but forgot to post it. I picked up this fabulous bird house stamp while I was in Florida last January at one of many craft store my friend Sue and I stopped into. it's made by Hero Arts called Tall Birdhouse

I wanted to create something different so I took the negative of a punched out circle and used it as a stencil to sponge in various colored SU inks on top of the image. My inks I had matched some old card stock I had pretty perfectly! Trying to use up what I have as I don't need any more cardstock or patterned paper.

For the sentiment sections I used various SU punches and left the field blank to add a sentiment as needed.
This set or individual would make great friend to friend cards, birthday cards, a mother's day card etc. Therefore I left it blank for now.

Thank you card received

I received this beautiful thank you card from Judi. I had placed a SU order last week and I received this card this week.

I love the color and the new ruffled ribbon! I don't have that embossing folder and it leaves a deep embossed effect on the whisper white card stock.

Lovely! Thanks Judi.

Turquoise bracelets

I made these two last night while watching TV and trying to keep cool during our heat wave. Today will be 98 degrees. I don't want to be kept inside but might as well keep busy!

I used the same directions as seen here to make them. This time I picked up a tube of turquoise beads from JoAnn's craft store Monday night (thanks for the color suggestion Kristen!) and set out to make these.

Black cording cut at 19 inches
Black sewing thread cut at 36 inches
Sewing needle
Button or bead (this time I went to my glass bead stash I picked up months ago from Michael's)
I used crimper beads, the directions just have you knot it but I had a bag of these crimps so wanted to use them up.
I did two patterns 2:1 and 7:1, total of 38 beads approx for a 7.5" bracelet

GDT Week 216 submission

This week at CRAFT Challenge blog we were given a picture for inspiration. (see below)

I created this ocean scenery card by using chalks and a digi image from DigiDarla

I cut out the image in an oval and had a scrap piece of burlap and made that an accent piece.
The sentiment is from Stampin' Up. I hand drew the seagulls.
Below is the inspirational picture we were given.

Juggling Hearts

Made this cute card for my daughter.
I cut a piece of white cardstock at 4 x 5 1/4" and used my Martha Stewart Diagonal plate in my embossing board to create the lines. Super simple!

The image (with the red card stock) is raised on foam squares. I colored it with my Crayola markers and edged the two white cs layers with my brown ink pad.

The "postage stamp type edging is a new Spellbinders edge die I picked up Monday night at Joann's for 5.00! It comes with three edges, I had fun playing around with the different cuts. This was actually the negative of one of the dies.
Sending this to my daughter today.

Friend birthday card

I made this for a dear friend whose birthday is this Thursday.

I used some pieces of card stock I had in my stash to add to this sweet image.
Using Crayola markers and a glitter pen I colored the image.

The inside sentiment is a very old wood rubber stamp from delta creative #057790056 Starry Happy Birthday.

Bracelets

Ever since I saw these corded bracelets, I just wanted to try and make them. A few sites (followed from pinterest) just did not explain it well or I could not follow.

However I found a post on Crafts Unleashed who explain it perfectly.

I was able to go through my jewelry stash and find the right elements to complete three of them last night.
I have a lot of vintage buttons and they went well with my bead selection.
The bracelet on the left are wooden beads, the center is clear elongated faceted beads and the one on the right has silver metal beads and a very old silver metal button with a shank.

I am off to make more for a craft fair this fall.

CRAFT Challenge Blog submission

As July guest design team member at the C.R.A.F.T Challenge Blog I created this card using the image from Rick St. Dennis Silent Night. The challenge was Christmas in July.

What I did was print it landscape and proceeded to make a tri panel card.
The first panel I cut out the dome shape and colored with my SU inks and blender pen.

I added glitter to most of the image and to the inside sentiment (you may not be able to see it).
The second panel I used a Sizzix die to cut the holly and berries. This would be for the sentiment or note to the recipient this holiday season.
The last panel I ran through the SU embossing snowflake embossing folder and added a computer sentiment of Holy Night to go with Silent Night... Holy Night.

Graduation cards

My sister's kids moved on (I believe they call it promote - promotion) from one school to the next level and wanted to make them some specials cards.

Alycia and Benjamin finished Middle school and now will be entering the High School in the fall so I made these two cards for them.
Christopher has finished the elementary school and will be entering the middle school in the fall and made this for him.
I picked up a TGI Friday gift card for them to go out for a bite to eat. I used the stars embossing folder from Cuttlebug, the sentiment from Stampin' Up and the graduation cap from a Cricut cartridge. (I had a few left over from the invitations I made a couple months ago)

Disney Birthday

While I had left over Mickey punches, and scraps of paper I proceeded to punch out stars (retired Stampin' Up punch) to accent the Disney punches.

The center star is doubled and raised on foam squares, it's difficult to see in the picture.
The sentiment is from SU and I scored a line under the sentiment and down the right side of the card to balance off the cover. You will have to click the picture to see the scoring.

Disney Happiness

Using a very old Disney punch and some scraps I had, I create this fun quick card.
Sentiment from SU, and I rounded corners on the 1" x 2.5", 1" x 3" and 1" x 3.5" strips and the corners of the card (old Creative memories corner rounder - my fav).

Butterfly Card set

I picked up these beautiful paper and rhinestone butterflies this week at Michael's craft store. A package of 24 for $1.99 on clearance.

To keep it simple, I used a Stampin Up border punch on the botton of the cards and then used a matching piece (1" x 4 1/4") of card stock and punched that as well and included the sentiments from SU Warm Words rubber stamp set.
To attach the butterflies I used a medium Glue Dot. For the trails of flight, I used the white gel pen and a ultra fine sharpie

Star Card Set

While trying to keep cool tonight, the day after the 4th, I decided to create a card set using the "Perfectly Penned" stamp set from Stampin' Up and stars.

I found various sizes of stamp punches and used my scraps to punched them out.
To add a different element, I scored a line at 1 1/4" from the bottom and lined up the stars.

Inside of the card I have a negative punched star to show through the base card color.

Happy 4th!

Before I get to my card, I took a picture of some home decor I have in my home. I actually bought these at a yard sale last year for $1.00!! I love country charm and vintage items and I was glad to obtain these. I have them on the steps going up to the main level of our home and oddly enough my cat does not play with them!

You could easily replicate this with wooden starts, wire and floral. Ok, on to my card.
You have seen me use this image last week, but this time I made it as a thank you card!
The base is embosses with the star embossing folder from Cuttlebug. The image is from a 1999 set from Stampin' Up which I purposely off centeredin the upper left corner to replicate the American Flag. Sentiment and punches are from Stampin' Up!

Have a Happy and Safe 4th to mu American bloggers!

C.R.A.F.T Challenge Design Team July 4th entry

I have been asked to be a GDT for July on the C.R.A.F.T Challenge Blog.
Challenge 214 - 4th of July is Here comes the Bride/Wedding/Anniversary card or project.
I used the digi stamp "Resting on a Cloud" by HopeJacare and used the edges of my scissors to rough it up a bit. Inked all edges with brown as I was going for the vintage touch.
The border punch is from Martha Stewart which allows the pink from inside the card show through. I finished it off with a true dictionary sentiment "anniversary" and some flat back pearls.
Please join in at the challenge at the CRAFT Challenge Blog this week!

Layered embossed simple card

While I had other plans when I started this card, I ended up keeping it simple and letting the embossing shine as the focal for this card.

Base run through Cuttlebug embossing folder., the following layered sentiment on Stampin' Up punches. The white layer was also embossed with Sizzix dots folder.
I finished it off with various sizes of SU pearls.

Card being sent to my daughter today as she started her summer session post grad class this week.
