Mother's Day window card

I had bought this die quite some time ago and had been meaning to use it.

I had a different layout in mind but was short on time as I wanted to get it in the mail this past Tuesday.
I found a scrap of double sided floral paper just the right size as the base.
Die cut the window in white cardstock.
Added paper flowers to match some of the flowers in the cs.

Decorated the inside for my written sentiment.
The birdcage ornament peeking in the pic is one I sent along with the card. (See previous post)

Gated Mother's Day card

I bought some new thin dies and made this card for a good friend (last year...just finally posting) .
Downfall with these dies, they are so small and easy to loose.

Mother's Day card

Made this with a large border punch from Martha Stewart by punching a 2" white piece of card stock.
Added the sentiment from SU and a tiny rhinestone. The Butterfly is also from SU which I added another rhinestone to the center and raised it on a little foam square.

Simple card layout done two ways

I saw this layout very early this morning while blog surfing however her card had no embossing. So I took my hand at it with the elements I had.
Base card is scored at the top A2 size using whisper white card stock, one card is embossed fully with a Cuttlebug folder, and the other has an embossing Sizzix border (SU!) folder just to the bottom portion.
The rest of the layout is the same for both cards.

Cut your doily it could be a real doily or one you cut with your Cricut or Sizzix die into 4 equal pieces. My doily was about 4 x 4 in size.

Cut your mats at 3" x 3" and 2 7/8" x 2 7/8"
Sentiment strip is 4 1/2 x 1/2" inked and raised by either foam squares (Think of you) or by curling the paper a bit (Mother's Day card)

Hope you give it a try. I created a video to help view the elements I used.

Mother's Day LO

This pic was taken Mother's Day 2011 in front of our home, we had went to Village Haven as we do every year for my MILs gathering and then to her home for desserts.

Since our winter was so long - the blossoms had not bloomed fully yet as they normally would have in front of our home.

I am following the sketch from Sketchy Thursday and a request of AllSorts for paper piecing, and the color scheme at Colour Create Challenge #87 of Red, Cream and Sage Green
Link
I used Colorbok pattern paper and Sizzix Large Doily die (having a problem cutting and releasing all the tiny pieces in the doily but it suited my needs here). The mat for the picture, I distressed using my scissors, and inked the doily and journaling spot.

Mother's Day card

Stampin' Up products used for this card - I added some glitter highlights to the flower to try and jazz it up. The photo does not show it.

Since I couldn't find my one and only Happy Mother's Day stamp - I had to computer generate the font which I then punch out with a couple SU punches.

Inside is stamped with blue Stayzon ink
I added a pocket to the left side of the card to hold a couple gift cards I picked up for her.

Birds and Swirls Mother's Day card

Here is another card that I was requested to make - so I used the layout from Crazy 4 Challenges and the recipe idea from Raise The Bar #50
This will also be entered in the Stars and Stamp blog challenge unused item and Crafty Catz forgotten stamp..
The Image is from Inkadinkado which I have had for so long and can't remember if I ever used it! The pattern paper is from Provo Craft the rhinestones are from Michael's. I cut out the fabulous scallop circle from Spellbinders.

Mother's Day Lantern

I was asked to make some cards for a friend of mine so that she can give them as a gift to a young man going off to the service. So the next series of cards I'll be creating today are those that I have been asked to do.
I saw this how to on Flowerbug's Inkspot and just had to make the Japanese Lantern.

Rather simple procedure - Cut a 3" circle with my Coluzzle. Stamps the flower image from SU, added some glitter pen highlights. Inked the edges and ran it through the crimper to give it the paper folded effect of a real lantern. Cut two strips of gold glitter cs at 1 1/4" x 1/2". Raised it on foam squared on the red base card with a layer of black CS. I used a MS border punch on the bottom and the inside of the card.

I'll be entering this card in the following challenges
Paper Cutz #75 any theme and colors
Cute Card Thursday - was 1 2 3 - so I used one gold threading, two stamp images and three pearls
And I used the layout from Clean & Simple

Mother's Day - a flurry of butterflies

I really like how this card came out. It was rather simple but with the challenges I chose to help me complete this card - it went together rather quickly.
(Sorry I photographed it on blue - I couldn't find a good base since the card is cream.)
Base is embossed using birds and swirls Cuttlebug folder
Black oval cut out using my Coluzzle template
Butterflies is a Sizzix die and various rhinestones to add bling!
I put the sentiment inside to keep the front clean. Sentiment by K&CO

Challenges:
Paper Cutz - make a Mother's Day card
Doodle Palace - red black and a neutral color
Allsorts to be inspired by the circle of butterflies
Charisma blog - quote
Get Sketchy - the sketch which help me start my card!

Gift card

On Project Tuesday, today's challenge was to create a gift card using this video tutorial .
I did mine a little different as I wanted a square card.
I took a 4 x 12 piece of card stock and scored at 4 and 8. The middle portion is then folded and the rest of the directions are the same.
I put a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4" cover and backing on so my finished project is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4"
I ran the cover and the back through the Cuttlebug Embossing folder because it matched my inner cardstock from Amanda Blu tablet that I got in the clearance section of Michael's.
The sentiment is a stamp set from K&Co that I got from Target clearance section last year.
The rose was cut from Indie Art Cricut Cartridge at 3 1/2"

This is for my Mother in Law, we always give her gift cards and I rather her get what she likes and needs.

Butterfly - Mother day card for my sis

So I spent a little bit of time over two days creating this card - my vision and execution were slightly diff but I am happy with the outcome.I entered this in the Challenge #29:Happy Mother's Day at the cuttlebug spot blog.

Transparency cut and embossed with the Cuttlebug swiss dot embossing folder and overlayed to the cover.
The inner portion of the card was embossed with D'vine Swirls and sanded so the white core shows through. Pearls and paper flowers added as accents. Sentiment from Wild Card Cricut Cartridge.
