after glow

I did this LO with memories of my dad who just passed away a few weeks ago. This is the only pic I have of when I was little (1970) with him and I alone. And then on my wedding day (1987). The mass memory card is attached and the back side was the phrase "after glow". How appropriate. Dad I love you.

I was able to complete this Lo with three challenges in mind. 1) MAF - Use black and one other color and bling. 2) At Practical Scrappers we were to use acrylic paints (which is a first for me on a LO!) It was fun. I used a cotton ball and swished it across the glitter black cs. and 3) at Frosted Designs we were to do paper tearing - which I love. I also used black ink on the torn edges. Love how it came out.

Click on the pic for better a view.
The sparkly glitter chip board are from making Memories that I bought to complete this LO at Michael's Craft Store.

Family Time LO

I used the layout form 11.12 sketch challenge at Sketchy Thursday and the challenge of stitches on Memories - Always Forever (MAF).
The A Child's Year card was perfect for the old time feel with the stiches. Title was cut at 1".

Holly cut at 2"
Cut at 3 1/2"

Ornament from a CD

We were challenged at MAF "AFGC - Wk2 CD ORNAMENT" to create an ornament from a CD.

Well I have never altered a CD, but it went together rather quickly and now I am hunting around for more CD's that do not work. Want to make gifts. THis one will be for my daughter's dorm room.

Paper and ribbon from Stampin' Up, the font (2") and snowflakes (2" and 3") are from A Child's Year Cricut cart.

King of our house

I completed this layout for MAF blog and I used IA for the crown - cut at 3". The title "Bella" is cut at 2" from the font selection on A Child's Year. (love this font!!!)

Hearts are cut from Stampin' Up punch.

I used Mojo Monday sketch to help me complete another challenge at MAF. That challenge we had to have leaves on our project.
I embossed the accent cs with script Cuttlebug Embossing folder.

Taste... of cake

I followed the Sketchy Thursday LO. This is of my nephew and his new bride - wedding in Sept.

Where there's smoke ...

...there's marshamallows.

Labor day cookout we always toast marshmallows. I made a hand cut marshmallow on a stick.
I used the BINGO card game at MAF for assistance in completing this page. What you dod is choose a row or column. For me because I had 5 pics - I used column "I".

All that glitters...

....must be Christmas. LOL

At Artsy Fartsy Scraproom GS #10 we were to follow their sketch and at MAF we were to use stamps.
I used Stampin' Up stamp image for the reindeer, glitter embossed him and mounted him on foam squares.
On the back ground of the base card I used K&Co swirl stamps, glittered and embossed as well. (Isn't the swirl wonderful!)

Inside sentiments is cut from A Child's Year Cricut Cartridge at 2". I added white dots with my Signo UniBall white pen also from SU.

Happy Birthday Tony

Made this card for my nephew's birthday with the help of three challenges:
Daring Cardmakers - use a clear acent. I used a printer transparency and embossed it using the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday folder.
MAF - to use the sketch below

Challenge #41 - It's So Distressing at Charisma Cardz we are to Distress your card. I used various techniques. I ink various pieces, I crumbled cardstock (under image) and then inked and I also used my Basic Grey distressing files and inked the image piece as well.

Gift Box with Tissue flower

We were shown tonight at our online crop at Memories Always Forever how to make these boxes and tissue bows. I love them!

Here is my go at the box and bow

Here are the directions for the flower:
Flower/Bow:
Using a large circle, or scallop punch (or anything you have to make about a 2 ½ - 3” diameter circle) – punch out circles through several layers of tissue paper. (I used my coluzzle)
Punch a hole in the centre of all pieces of tissue paper, and insert a brad.
Make several random diagonal cuts from outside of circle to about ½” away from the brad.
Separate the tissue paper layers, and scrunch the whole bunch up in your hand.
Release, and dip edges in glitter or ink.
My tissue was already glittered so I did not add to the effect.

JOY - Xmas card

Week 12 - we were provided with a tutorial at Christmas with the Cricut using the layout below and the JOY label.
So I thought i would give it a try.

The Joy sentiment is cut from A Child's Year Circut cartridge at 1 1/4"
The scene was cut at 2 1/4 both raised on foam squares
The sentiment inside is from a challenge at Memories Always Forever for a XMAS recipe challenge

Here is a copy of the wording we had to use at MAF:
Christmas is not a time nor a season,
but a state of mind.
To cherish peace and goodwill,
to be plenteous in mercy,
is to have the real spirit of Christmas.

Badminton and a kiss (LO)
