happy thoughts

So I took the 30 min card challenge at Maria SPS - and it took me a little bit more than 30 mins (40 mins). Everything but the base card is from my scrap bin!
I used the wax paper technique - on the glossy paper which has the Cuttlebug swirls on it (so sorry hard to see the swirls - click the pics for a better view).

The little piggy is from The Greeting Farm
The white border (again hard to see - poor lighting this morning as it is overcast) is from Martha Stewart.
Strung a little bitty clear acrylic SU button with black DMC floss. This card goes with a few challenge - The Sisterhood of Crafters to try the resist wax technique
Color Theme of black and white and one other color (pink is what I chose) at Allsorts
and to use acrylic Practical Scrappers - it's like adding a secret element!

Let it Snow

Since I cut out one snowman for the last card for Frosted Designs snowman theme- I did another - this time he was cut from Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge at 1 3/4 to fit the layout at PinkGem. To assist me with the layout I used the color theme at Colour Create - fabulous challenge to use Red, White/off white, chocolate and pink.
All the embossing and sanding is from the Cuttlebug snowflake 5x7 embossing folder. Love it! you can pick the snowflake you want
Let it snow is a little Sizzlits. Brads added in the color per the layout allowed me to enter this in Practical Scrappers brads challenge. These are mini brads from Michael's

after glow

I did this LO with memories of my dad who just passed away a few weeks ago. This is the only pic I have of when I was little (1970) with him and I alone. And then on my wedding day (1987). The mass memory card is attached and the back side was the phrase "after glow". How appropriate. Dad I love you.

I was able to complete this Lo with three challenges in mind. 1) MAF - Use black and one other color and bling. 2) At Practical Scrappers we were to use acrylic paints (which is a first for me on a LO!) It was fun. I used a cotton ball and swished it across the glitter black cs. and 3) at Frosted Designs we were to do paper tearing - which I love. I also used black ink on the torn edges. Love how it came out.

Click on the pic for better a view.
The sparkly glitter chip board are from making Memories that I bought to complete this LO at Michael's Craft Store.

TFL!

Greetings from the Northpole

Hot Cocoa anyone?!
Here is a combo card. I call it that becasue I used premade die cuts on my hand made card.
The penguin and cocoa stand are from Paper Magic and the rest is designed around the images.

The snow is blue paper run through the Cutlebug snowflake embossing folder and sanded to show the white core. The sentiment and tree stamps are from Inkadinkado.

I am enterring this into two challenges. One at Charisma Cardz Challenge #45 and the other is white core or color core effect at Practical Scrappers

Love - LO

I started this LO last night - and wanted just the right colors for the mat of my daughter and my father. You see he passed away yesterday, and this picture was taken this past father's day and this pic is special to me. [Love you dad]
I wanted to enter this in The Practical Scrappers "lace" challenge but I didn't realize the deadline was 5:00 PM today, none the less - I love this layout.
The cuts were: the lace flowers - cut to full page from Wild card Cricut cartridge, LOVE was cut from A Child's Year at 2". Ribbon from Michael's, rhinestones (?? I forget)

Practical Scrapper - use transparencies card

Transparencies Day Two at Practical Scrappers blog challenged us to use transparencies. I happened to have some 12 x 12 painted sheets and cut one down for a card front.

I then cut out the flower pattern (Martha Stewart crafts) fro mthe piece of transparency.
I embossed the under layer card using Victoria Cuttlebug Folder and cut of the two leaves (accent) from Graphically Speaking Cricut Cartridge at 1".

Added some rhinestones and ribbon (Target). (The picture is hard too take and it looks like the ribbon is brighter than it really is.

Jingle Jingle jingle LO for 2009 Holiday Season

Ohhh... I am psyched, I got one pre-LO completed by using two challenges.

1) I used Sankari's Non-Traditional Colors Challenge #35 - 09-21-09 at Christmas Stampin' All Year long. This week Maria gave us a sketch and in which I used it for a LO because at Practical Scrappers blog This week's challenge is Felt

So I dug through my stuff and found Martha Stewart snowflake felt border that I picked up last year.. so with it prompted me to look at Maria card sketch as a LO So that I can use it for the family pic I take every Christmas day. The stamp is from a dollar bin at Michael's a few years ago and I used the new Sizzix Embossing folder where the pic will go.

Yahooo!
Here is the LO is followed.

We had to use non traditional Christmas colors - no red, blue or green at CSAYL and at Practical Scrappers we had to use felt.

Click the pic for a better view of the felt and embossing and stamping!!!

Hello.... Thank you

I made this card for This week's challenge is Letter Stickers at Practical Scrappers.
I used the letters as centers of my flowers instead of buttons.
I used three diff CB Embossing Folders. Victoria on the front, swiss dots on the flowers (Punch by EK Success) and script on the inside.

Inside are EK Success punches made for Stampin' Up. Embellous with Stampendous Class-a-peel stickers. Gorgeous BLING! without going overboard.

4Th of July LO for two challeges at http://practicalscrappers.blogspot.com/ and The Cuttlebug Spot Challenge # 48: Confetti Creations

I cut strips for the confetti, embossed it using the new Stars Cuttlebug Folder and inked them.

For the LO I followed that was posted on the Practical Scrappers blog (created by Scrapsketch)

I cut the flag and title from Cricut Graphically Speaking, misc ribbon and Martha Stewart border punch used on accent stripe.
