Using a party store or dollar store mylar balloon, I customized it for a little surprise for my daughter, to commemorate her recent graduation.
I sent her flowers to her apartment yesterday but wanted to create a little something more for the time being.
She will be home for a couple hours tomorrow and want to have this little surprise in her room.
Using the Cricut tonight, I cut out her name and the year using A Child Year font at 1".
For the congrats sentiment, I used Elegant Cakes at 1 1/2" all from black vinyl.
I've had a long day and at 11:00 PM this took 5 mins to cut and put together.
I bought a couple of these at Michael's with the intent of decorating and giving to my mother in law. I thought she could put it on her sun porch.
I started out by mixing tthe two colors of acrylic paint to get a green bluish shade. Painted all areas that I thought would be exposed.
Then proceded to make templates of the roof, back, side and bottom pieces. I cut them out of My Minds Eye Bella Bella stack of scrapbooking paper and adhered them to the sides (except the front was just painted) with AC Moore craft glue.
To add to the antique look or aged look, I dabbed my finger in the painted and did a wiping effect to the edges. You can see it in the video.
After all was dried I used twine as vines and hot glued on the prima paper flowers.
Look forward to making the second one in different colors.
I made this for my Aunt to keep some notes written down while she is recuperating.
I used my scraps (and I have lots!) to cut and punch the elements you see, and layered them with my glue stick.
I believe the background paper is American Crafts card stock, and the border punch and the butterflies are Martha Stewart punches. Quick gift for someone or a hostess!
I bought 5 of these (different styles) at a yard sale for 50 cents a piece. I knew I wanted to add beads to them - or maybe alcohol inks and glitter.
Well - for my first one - I tied wire to the top of it - added a charm here and there, inked and placed a couple rub-ons right on the glass. I glued various beads in place to the wire that winds around the bottle.
It was experimental - and have other ideas for the remaining 4. For now it stands empty - but I would like to fill it with colored sand or colored beads or mini marbles... hmmmm still thinking
I painted the cube first with brown acrylic paint, then glued 2 3/4 x 2 3/4" pattern SU paper. To seal the paper to the cube I Mod Podge over all 6 sides. On the wire I added some SU beads from an old "Pretties Kit". For the center accent I cut the band papers at 3/4" and 1/2". Glued them together and attached. The medallion was originally cut at 1" and scored with my Martha Stewart score board at every 1/4" and then glued into a circle added a silk flower also from the kit and hot glued it to the front.
My friend can use this to display her cards for an upcoming class. Entering this in at Scrappy Frog - anything goes challenge and at the newly created Decorate to Celebrate
I made this tonight for my MIL. Paper from K&Company, font stickers from Colorbok, misc beads. Mod Podge to seal the pattern paper and some acrylic paint on the edges.
Here is a very short 2 min video. (a little dark until I get a second light)
I bought this birdhouse at AC Moore, and decorated it with paint, Basic Grey paper and rhinestones from Michaels. Lace is from JoAnns. Stick Pins are from Making Memories that I bought months ago at Michael's clearance wall. I bought another birdhouse last night at JoAnns that I'll be decorating in coordinating items as well - so make a set! Spring will be here soon and want these on display in my window.
Made this notebook for my BIL who is a pharmacist. I found this web site, Just Something I made, that had vintage Apothecary labels and just had to doctor-up this notebook.
I bought the notebook at Wal-Mart great price due to school supplies in high demand. I covered it with Scotts quick dry glue and Stampin' Up DSP. (back)
Printed the labels on white card stock and cut them all out. To give it an older feel I inked the sides of the notebook and inked the labels with my brown Color Box cats eye ink. Adhere them with Mod Podge and then spritz them with Glimmer Mist. The colors I used were Sand and Sea Glass. I like how a few spots hit a label and made it more vintage.
