Memorial Day
This morning I went to the next town over to watch the parade. I always enjoy in a patriotic thoughtful way - the Taps and the gun salute.
My dad served in the Air Force as a special Air Police and whom recently passed a few months ago. Thoughts of him on this special day as well as we thank those who fought and still fight for freedom and rights.
A Peanut Hello
I made this shape card for my BIL. He hurt his ankle and multiple bones in his leg (hence the bandage on the elephants leg) and now has a plate in his leg.
Long read to recovery so I made him this card.
The hidden message "hello" is behind the peanut.
All cuts from Create A Critter - elephant at 3 1/2" peanut at 1"
This will go for Pollycraft challenge

happy thoughts
So I took the 30 min card challenge at Maria SPS - and it took me a little bit more than 30 mins (40 mins). Everything but the base card is from my scrap bin!
I used the wax paper technique - on the glossy paper which has the Cuttlebug swirls on it (so sorry hard to see the swirls - click the pics for a better view).
The little piggy is from The Greeting Farm
The white border (again hard to see - poor lighting this morning as it is overcast) is from Martha Stewart.
Strung a little bitty clear acrylic SU button with black DMC floss. This card goes with a few challenge - The Sisterhood of Crafters to try the resist wax technique
Color Theme of black and white and one other color (pink is what I chose) at Allsorts
and to use acrylic Practical Scrappers - it's like adding a secret element!
Happy Birthday
At Charisma Cardz their challenge was "Going round and Round"
I made this card with SU Judi = Love the fun circles and colors.

Monkey around for Father's Day
Created this card for my husband - for our three children to give to him. They are older but I thought the whimsy would be a good thing to do... to think back when the kids were younger and oh so active!
I used the Create a Critter cartridge and cut them out at 2 1/2". I flipped one and with the negative of the vine - made more vines to appear in the background.
Since we have one girl - I put a bow on her head.

Sentimental blues
I called this post Sentimental Blues - because due to the fact I used the Cricut Sentimentals cartridge for the sentiment (1 1/2") and the adorable fancy owl (3") and also because I followed along with Audrey's challenge - blue challenge at Cute and Some
I followed the layout at Crazy 4 Challenges

Butterfly Dreams
Created this card with a few challenges - see below.
Main image is the Trellis Die by Sizzix from Stampin' Up. I ran it through my Xyron due to the intricacy of the die cut. Mounted it on blue corrugated cardboard and then on white card stock. Added the Martha Stewart border punch to the sides and some white buttons to hide them in the design. (hard to see them in the corners)
The butterflies is an embosslit also by Sizzix from Stampin' Up. I added a tiny tag as the sentiment.
Made by Momo blog - orange, blue and white
Allsorts - tags
Charisma Cardz - 3D items
Pollycraft - buttons and butterflies challenge 45
The Pink Elephant - orange as the dominant color TPE68
I am a winner at A Crafty Little Place
I entered this card and won this blog badge at A Crafty Little Place

I love watching these episodes - they are fun and inspiring crafts at DIY DISH. Watch episode 10 on creating necklaces with washers. I have seen quite a few of these made on various blogs and TV programs - but this method uses friendly plastic from AMACO
I can't wait to try it - here is a pic from DIY DISH web site
Doesn't it make you want to try it?

Come on down and enter Showcase #7
Registration for the new showcase begins today, May 17 for Showcase #7 .
For information and registration, please click here for a direct link to the post on Audrey's Cute and Some blog.
I am the Fairy designer this week - and my theme for you is to re-purpose those old CD's that just don't work anymore!
Go through your pile, grab one from your kids when they were little, or a disc that just didn't load correctly.
If you do not have a CD, cut a piece of cardboard/chip board from a cereal box or cracker box into a circle - layer some paper and design it up.
Key here is to re-purpose what we tend to throw away!
Here is my creation to get you started. You have till Friday and I really hope you join us.
