A friend of mine requested a mini album for a Father's Day gift. I set out Tuesday night to make this one.
Each double folded page is made by taking a 12 x 12 piece of cs and cutting it in half.
Take the 12 x 6 piece of card stock and score it horizontally at 1 1/2" and turn and score at 6". You will have a double page with folded pockets as seen in the video.
Added simple elements and my Cinch to bind it all.

Crochet Anklets
On Tuesday I was reading the latest email from a Crochet company and they talked about making crochet bracelets/anklets.
I am not a huge crocheter, but I like little easy items. So I read through the easy chain stitch directions and set out to bring my stash of beads and thin yarn/thread to my crochet group I attend on Wednesday.
I made a couple per the directions (which I gave away last night) and then changed the directions my way and created the one below for myself.
The faceted beads in this one is a little larger than the metal beads in the first one above. I am running low on the metal beads so I wanted to try my hand at the clear faceted beads on the gold thread.
The way I made mine was as follows:
1) Thread about 10 - 12 beads to the ball of string and leave them on there until you need to move one up.
2) leave 6" of thread as the lead off tail, then ch 6, move one bead down and ch over the bead,
3) ch 6, then move down another bead and keep repeating till it fits your ankle
leave 6" of thread to end off the anklet to allow for tying.
I'll make a video a little later this week and post it.
thanks for looking!

4 x 5.5 mini album
Hello!
Hope your Memorial Day went well. It was bright, and mildly warm. Rain was anticipated but no thunderstorms arrived. I finished this in the early morning while all was sleeping
This mini album I started a week or so before but had the opportunity to embellish the pages with Prima Flowers and gems from Michael's. I have a video if you like to see the details.
This is similar to the one loaded earlier from a file folder and acrylic items repurposed for this intent.

12 x 12 Anniversary layout
We went away to NH for our 25th anniversary and I developed the pictures immediately! Whew that's a feat in it's self.
So with a layout I had in my stash from Sherri Funk I created this one picture 12 x 12 layout using My Mind's Eye Bella Bella paper.
I found a huge stash of chipboard letters and numbers and glued them to the journaling spot for perfect title placement!
( The video is available on YouTube for viewing all details)

10 minute card
Hi Folks, I am calling this my 10 minute card because I had just a few minutes to create a card that I wanted to send to my daughter today.
So with my supplies and scraps I created this card.
If you watched my video yesterday, you will see the layout of this card came from the last page of the mini.
I liked how I laid out the swirl, the butterfly and the sentiment label that I wanted to reproduce the layout into a card.
Because the card is a darker blue, I continued the theme and layout to the inside of the card.
The materials I used on this card is as follows:
Front: Stampin' Up Tulip border embossing folder, Sizzix (Tim Holtz) swirl die, Stampin' Up (Sizzix) Butterfly embosslit die, and Spellbinders label die for the sentiment. Sentiment is from SU as well. Gems from Recollection collection at Michael's.
Inside: Sizzix (Tim Holtz) swirl die (there are two different swirls on the die), Stampin' Up (Sizzix) Butterfly embosslit die (there are 5 different little butterflies to use on the die), and Spellbinders label die for the journaling.
Thanks for reading and stopping by!

Mini Album from file folder and packaging
Repurposing is what I like to do with household items.
Here for this mini album which is 4 x 5 1/2", I put clear plastic (acrylic or acetate) packaging as a protective covering over this beautiful file folder cover.
I picked up a package of these file folders at Michael's with the intent of cutting them up and using them in mini albums. Here is one of three that I worked on this weekend.
The video can be viewed to see the page elements.
Thanks for looking and taking the time to stop by my blog and videos.

4 x 6 acrylic cover mini album
Created this mini after reading a post on fb.
I cut clear packaging that had a nice thick acrylic cover and base so I'll be able to make a few minis out of it. This was cut at 4 x 6".
The cover card stock is textured from ColorBok, the inside pages is from My Minds Eye which I cut at 4 x 12 then scored at 6, glue stick together to make thick pages.
There are a total of 6 (12 sides) pages to this mini.
I used the Martha Stewart border punch and Sizzix butterfly, heart and leaf dies.
I made the stick pin that is pinned to the lace to the Cinch binding.
(video is below (or click the link) for more details)

Sympathy Card
I used the Stampin' Up Idea and catalog book to assist in making this card which I sent to my daughter's friend who lost her father.
The measurement of the pieces are as follows:
Base card is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" folded in half.
Text paper which I used a border punch was originally cut at 5 1/2" x 2"
Crinkled green card stock 3/4" x 4 1/4"
Sentiment and image orange piece cut, and I corner rounded the upper right only, at 3" x 4". The sentiment is raised using foam squares.

Altered Birdhouse from Michael's
I bought a couple of these at Michael's with the intent of decorating and giving to my mother in law. I thought she could put it on her sun porch.
I started out by mixing tthe two colors of acrylic paint to get a green bluish shade. Painted all areas that I thought would be exposed.
Then proceded to make templates of the roof, back, side and bottom pieces. I cut them out of My Minds Eye Bella Bella stack of scrapbooking paper and adhered them to the sides (except the front was just painted) with AC Moore craft glue.
To add to the antique look or aged look, I dabbed my finger in the painted and did a wiping effect to the edges. You can see it in the video.
After all was dried I used twine as vines and hot glued on the prima paper flowers.
Look forward to making the second one in different colors.

Happy Graduation Card
This is the third cardwe will be making in the class in my home in May.
I made this for my son's friend who will be graduating from BVT. One of the school's colors is purple so the accent label can be switched out to black for the class, or any corresponding colors for a specific school.
I embossed the base card stock with the Tulip Border embossing folder, added a separate frame embossing accent that I fussy cut that the label and which I then glued the butterfly (also an embosslet) to it.
Added rhinestones and the sentiment.
I also think black pearls can be switched out, if the label is punched from black paper.

Mini Album using Children Board book
I was watching a few youtube video's quite awhile ago, where they took children's little board books and made mini's.
So when I was in Target at their dollar spot - I picked up a set of (2) 4 x 4" books.
I finally got around to creating this one this week. I spent a couple hours (I think 3 hours in total) cutting the paper, gluing and designing the cover and pages.
I love how it turned out.
Please take a look at the video for more details.
Thanks!

This is one of three cards I'll be making at a class in my home this month.
All items from Stampin' Up.
All items from Stampin' Up.
I stamped the fabulous old fashion truck image onto whisper white card stock. Cut a 2 1/2" strip of card stock and ran that through a SU embossing folder.
Border punch the green accent piece and layers the sentiment on top.

Graduation card
My daughter's boyfriend graduated from Northeastern University last Friday. The school colors are red and black so I made this card for him. I need to pick up a couple gift cards before I can mail the card to him. Luckily he also landed a job right out of college!!!
I used two different embossing folders from Stampin' Up Sizzix brand. The tag is a Spellbinders die held on with vintage twine.

Pinwheel Magnet
I saw this on pinterest and just had to make it!.
I used a 2 1/2 square and cut it on double sided pattern paper.
Using strong glue dots (you can use your glue gun or a thumb tack) make the pinwheel and attach it to a clothes pin.
Add a strong magnet to the back and you got a cute magnet!
This was created for a kids class I was to teach.
